Private James Allan, Newtongrange

This picture is a memorial picture from the Edinburgh Evening News, the second magnificent photograph  was kindly sent to me by the Author Jack Alexander, it shows a detachment of the 10th Royal Scots at Berwick in 1915, Jimmy Allan is second from the left , front row, there is a rather touching note to his brother and sister on the back.



And the reverse of the card, Jimmy was at the front for a few days before his death.
