Private Walter Hogg RMLI

Is he a sailor or a soldier, the answer, both or neither, Walter was a forerunner to the current Royal Marine Commando's. He enlisted and served with distinction at Zeebrugge during the seige of 1914. Transferred to the ill fated campaign at Gallipoli he was shot by a Turkish sniper in the abdomen and died of his wounds shortly after. Below is a picture of the uniform that Walter would have worn, this is a group from early 1915.
